evolution: X.25, Frame-relay, ETM. IP transportation on the network
backbones: from IP over ATM to IP over Optical Networks. MPLS technology.
Voice over IP transportation. Voice over IP signaling. SIP: Architecture and protocol. Audio flow transportation: brief notes about audio codecs (G.711, G.723, iLBC), RTP protocol.
